The Kawall's Parrot (Amazona kawalli) was only first reported in 1989, as it was thought to be a subspecies of the Mealy Parrot before researchers examined it more closely.
This bird's range was thought to be limited to Brazil but it was reported in 2021 at the community of Mitú Cachivera.
Since that first report, they've been seen fairly consistently in the area, which is a great sign for conservation of this amazing parrot species.
